The Comments feature in HTFY Publisher allows you to manage audience feedback and interactions submitted through your articles. It provides full moderation tools including manual approval, reply, and deletion, helping you maintain content quality and user engagement on your static site.

Overview

All comments submitted via your website's articles are first marked as Pending Approval. These comments require manual moderation by an admin before they appear publicly.

How to Manage Comments

1. Access the Comments Panel

From the Dashboard, click on the Comments section to view a list of all submitted comments.

2. Approve or Reject

  • Use the Approve button to make a pending comment public.

  • Use the Delete button to permanently remove irrelevant or harmful comments.

3. Reply to Comments

  • Only approved comments can receive replies.

  • Click the Reply icon, enter your response, and submit. Replies appear nested under the original comment.

Comment Privacy and Moderation

  • All replies are posted by the admin under the name provided in the site settings.

  • There is no auto-approval system to ensure content remains controlled and appropriate.

  • This manual workflow ensures only constructive and relevant discussions appear on your site.

Are comments automatically published after submission?

No. All comments are held for manual approval by default. This allows you to review and approve only relevant or appropriate comments for public display.


Can I reply to a comment before approving it?

General
No. You can only reply to comments after they’ve been approved. This ensures public replies appear only under publicly visible comments.


How do I delete a spam or irrelevant comment?

General
Simply click the “Delete” button next to the comment in the Comments panel. Once deleted, the comment is permanently removed and will not appear on your site.


Where do replies appear once submitted?

General
Replies are shown as nested comments directly under the approved comment they're responding to. These replies are marked as admin responses.


Is there a way to turn off comment functionality site-wide?

General
Not by default, but you can hide or disable comment forms via your website’s page templates or by turning off the script that loads the comment interface. Advanced settings may be added in future updates.
